Meet the man who turns scrapped car parts into sculptures worth thousands of pounds. Australian artist James Corbett, 46, creates these sculptures using old car parts salvaged from scrap yards

His sculptures sell for thousands - one piece, a ram made out of spark plugs, has already sold for a whopping £14,000

His sculptures are made from gears, radiators, spark plugs and exhausts - anything the artist can get his hands on

After weeks spent searching for the right parts, James meticulously cleans each part and welds them together

He said: "I was working at a wrecking yard and a guy I know who races in stock cars showed me a trophy he had won that was made of car gear sticks. I looked at it and thought that I could do a much better job so began making my own sculptures"

"After a while, people started taking more and more interest in what I was doing and now I do it for my living - it really is a dream come true"

"On average, each piece takes just over two weeks to create but larger pieces can take much longer," he says

James, a father-of-two, lives in Ningi in Queensland, Australia, with his wife Jodie

His sculptures use parts from old cars - French and British cars are James's favourites to salvage from

The sculptor is currently displaying his work at the John Davies Gallery in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucs until December 19

"My two favourite pieces I created for this show are the ram and the boar," he says
